Alex is 6
It is so hard to believe that Alex is now 6 years old. The day he was born was one of the best days of my life! I will always be grateful for the chance that I have to raise and feel so blessed to call myself his mother. I have always know that he is a very special son of our Father Heaven. I felt it when I was pregnant with him and I can see it all of the time now. He amazes me constantly with how smart he is and how incredibly kind he is. I couldn't ask for a better son and Ben is very lucky to have such a great big brother.

All About the Pokemon
For those of you who don't know Alex loves his Pokemon. This is a picture of his favorite Pokemon friend Gangar that he got for Christmas. He sleeps with it every night along with one of the other stuffed Pokemon friends that he has (I will take pictures of the others another time. There are quite a few). It's amazing to me that this obsession he has with Pokemon has lasted so long. He has been into it since he was about 2 or so and it has never ended. He likes other things too but those things seem to come and go after a period of time but not Pokemon. I guess this one is here to stay which I think his Dad is just as happy about. Truthfully, I think his Dad enjoys the cartoons almost as much as Alex does. They have a lot of fun watching them together. It's pretty cute watching them on the couch together on Saturday mornings. I think that's why every kid needs a Dad because most Moms wouldn't indulge their little obsessions like Jackson does with Alex's Pokemon. Alex is very lucky that his Dad understands him and loves him like he does.

My Big Boy
On Tuesday I took Alex to the Doctor for his 3 year check up. I was totally amazed at how well he is doing on his motor skills. As I started discussing the things that Alex can do and knows the doctor even seemed amazed. She that he is well above the average in all of his fine motor skills. Most kids his same age only know how to do a 24 piece puzzle, the numbers 1-10, some of the colors, and a few letters of the alphabet. I told her that he is putting together 100 piece puzzles (one in 3-D), he knows all of his colors, he can recognize several letters of the alphabet, and knows the numbers 1-20. We have always thought that he was really intellectual and very smart but it is nice to hear it from a professional. She also said that his language skills are really advanced as well. She said that most boys at his age aren't as easy to understand but is very clear. I was also amazed at his memory. He seemed to remember everything about the doctor. He remembered that she has a fish tank and that he would get a sticker when she was done. He didn't fight her on anything either. In fact, he even helped her with what she was doing and opened his mouth for her to check. He constantly amazes me!! I guess now we just need to keep challenging him to see what else he can do.
