Growing More Everyday

I can't believe how big Ben is getting! I was looking at pictures of him the other day and it totally surprised me how fast he is growing. This last year seems like such a blur to me. It is totally unbelievable to me that he is going to be a year old at the end of this month. He has been such a delight for all of us. I can see that his personality is changing now that he learning to move around and he has definitely learned how to get our attention. The other day at dinner he didn't like that daddy and mommy were talking to each other instead of to him, so he started yelling at the top of him lungs. Not the right way to get attention if you ask me, but I guess you have to try. He also has learned that crawling towards the stairs makes us all a bit nervous (a habit we all have to break). He absolutely adores his big brother Alex too. Anything he is doing he laughs at. It is really cute!! It's amazing to see what he is learning everyday. He is such a great baby but a guess I can't really call him that any more. He's not much of a baby anymore. Oh well, he's still my baby!

A Lund Halloween

Aren't my boys so cute? We had so much fun on Halloween this year. We actually got to do lots of fun things to celebrate Halloween this year. The Thursday before Halloween, Alex had a great party at pre-school that Mom got to help with. Then on Friday we had a Halloween party with Grandma and Grandpa Lund, Aunt Nicole and Uncle Devan and cousin Eva. Mom got to use her new Halloween plates and bowl, which are so cute with monsters and ghosts on them, to serve her "cowboy" chili in and then we went to the church to have a "trunk" or treat party. Alex loved it and got tons of candy. Everybody loved the boys costumes too!

On Halloween night Grandma and Grandpa Burt came by to see the boys in their costumes. Then Dad took the boys around the neighborhood for more candy ,of course, because we didn't have enough from the night before. Alex has really gotten into the spirit of the holiday and totally loves it. He doesn't seem to care so much for the candy but he loves all the attention he gets from dressing up and ringing peoples doorbells. He still keeps asking me if he can go trick or treating again. How cute! I think that even Ben enjoyed too. I have to admit that he made a really adorable Yoda. At first I really wanted him to match Alex's costume but in the end it really didn't matter and it made Jackson so happy. However, next year I told him I want them to match. We'll see what happens.

New Posts Are Finally Coming!!

Ok, so I know that it has been far too long since my last post on here. This is an official declaration that I am done with my sabbatical and I am finally going to start updating my blog again. I know that in the past I have not been very good at keeping this current but since I just had a milestone birthday, I have made a few goals for myself. One of my new goals is to have a new post on my blog every week. So, now every who reads this is my witness. You can all feel free to nudge me and encourage me if you see me struggling in the area. I figure since I am really bad at writing in my journal this will be my way of capturing the memories of our family.

Anyway, bare with me as I try to catch up on the things that have happened since Ben was born. It is crazy for me to think that he is 7 months old now. Wow, time is really racing on.

Here He Is!!!!

BENJAMIN WALTER LUND

Benjamin Walter Lund was born on March 29th, 2009 at 2:41 am. We was 7 lbs. 11 ozs. and 20 in. long. The labor and delivery was pretty normal but Mom had some scary things happen after he was born. Real briefly I will give the run down. About 20 or 30 minutes after he was born, my blood pressure started to drop really low. I was really light headed and dizzy and extremely nauseated. My nurse was really great and very attentive to what was going on. They gave me some medications to help and then started to push on my uterus to make it contract. When they did that I started having enormous blood clots and a lot of blood come out. After several times of this happening, they started to weight the amount of blood that I was losing. Then they called in the doctor who helped deliver Ben. (Much to my disappointment my doctor wasn't working that night.) The doctor then decided that I was losing too much blood and they were going to have to take me to the OR to explore why I was bleeding and clean me out. During this time they found that a piece of the placenta was left inside so they cleaned everything out and gave me a bunch of medication. When I was sent back to Jackson, they took a sample of my blood and found that I had lost about 50% of my blood. So, then they had to give me a blood transfusion to replace some of that blood. After all of that I finally started to stabilize. They watched me very closely in the hospital for the next couple of days and my OB visited me several times. He told me that it will take quite a while to replace all of the blood that I lost so I have to take it really easy because I am going to be really weak for a while. On a very positive note though, Ben is absolutely perfect. He has had no complications and has been such a good eater and sleeper for me!! It is so nice to have such a beautiful baby. (Alex had a really rough delivery and came out not looking very pretty.) We feel so blessed to have our 2 wonderful little boys. It is amazing how the new ones that come to us just seem to fit right into the family. Alex has been so sweet and loving with Ben. I really hope that continues!! We can't thank everyone enough for all of the prayers and love that we have received. We are truly so blessed!!!

Finally Back

Wow, it has been such a lond time since I have able to post anything on this! Our computer has been crashing on us since just after Christmas so, we finally broke down and used some of our tax returns to buy a new computer tower. (You don't realize how much you need your computer until it isn't working.) Anyway, I have missed so much so it will take me a while to catch up but I will try to update this with what has been going on around here.

The Results are in!!!!

I went in for my routine ultrasound last friday and finally saw the sex of our baby. We are having a baby boy!!!! I am so excited to finally know and be able to plan now. Alex has been so cute about it. The two weeks before I went in he had been telling me that we were having a baby boy and as we dropped him off at his grandparents, he told me again that we were having a baby boy and that I could count on him because he knows. Obviously he knew more than I did because I felt pretty confident that we were having a girl. (So much for mothers intuition.) I am really thrilled to have another boy though. Alex has been such a joy to have and I can't wait to see how this new little man will bless our lives. Now we just have to decide on his name. We are leaning towards Benjamin Walter Lund but there are a couple of others names that we are tossing around. Benjamin is really the only one that we both seem to agree on so I think that we will probably stick with that. Things can always change though, so stay tuned for any updates. Now I just need to make it throught the Holidays and I will only have three more months to go. It seems like such a long way away until I get to see him.

Boy or Girl?

Yay, I finally have the date for my ultrasound. It will be on November 14th at 11:30. I can hardly stand the anticipation. I feel like this has taken a long time to finally get to this point. Maybe that is because I already have a child or maybe it is because I have some pretty strong feelings (just like with Alex) that I know that sex of the baby already. Anyway, I thought to help me pass the time, it would be fun to take a poll and see what other people think we are having. Obviously it doesn't really matter because we are so excited to be having another child. I just think that it is fun to see what others think. I am not one of those people who can wait to find out the sex of the baby. I love to plan ahead and have the nursery all decorated in the gender specific style that I choose. (I have already been looking at things when I am at the store to see what I like that is out there.) So, let me know what your feelings are on the matter. I would love to hear what you think.
